Gabrielle Giffords Will Step Down From Congress, a Year After She Was Shot
Representative Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona said Sunday that she would step down this week from Congress, an announcement that comes about a year after she shooting attack that left 6 people dead and 13 wounded — including Ms. Giffords. "I have more work to do on my recovery so to do what is best for Arizona I will step down this week," she said in a statement.
